A good night's sleep was a luxury. Domino had found, so far, that she has difficulty acquiring it, no matter what kind or combination of narcotics, alcohol, sleeping pills, or other sure-fire sleep aids she used. Waking up in the middle of the night was just part of life, after so long. Even as a girl, sleep had been elusive and difficult. Tonight was just more of the same.

She slid out of bed, padding toward her bureau. The place Cable had put them up in was pretty swanky. Even the furniture was classy and modern. She opened the top drawer, shuffling through guns, ammunition, and a small bag containing her socks, until she found the last of her bottle of whiskey. She pulled the bottle out, padding into the common room. No doubt someone would be up, and she could use some conversation, and perhaps a supplement to her total available alcohol.

For some reason, the incident earlier in the week with Cable and the showers had set off a barrage of dreams about Milo. Maybe it had simply been too long since she'd done the things Grizzly and Kane had insinuated. Maybe, in the end, she desperately needed to get laid. At this point, staring down the barrel of another mostly sleepless night, Domino was sure it couldn't hurt.

She slid onto the couch, turning the television on when the gigantic main room proved to be empty. Maybe a mindless movie would help. She flipped around, settling on Dawn of the Dead with a shrug. She'd seen it before, but she liked it, even if her favorite character got shot for no reason at the end.
