Signs of spring

A few of the hundred+ bulbs I planted last fall are finally starting to come up, mostly daffodils. I guess the crocuses and snow drops didn't make it, though, because they should be in bloom by now ( Read more... )

My daffodils started blooming earlier this week and the red buds are out in force. I'm glad that spring is finally appearing; I am so tired of cold, dreary days of winter. Be sure to let us know when the scissortail flycatchers return. Happy spring! And daylight savings time returns next weekend. I am overjoyed.

Oh wow, spring really does come earlier where you are. Our red buds are weeks away, I think.

Your house is just going to be lovely I'm sure. You two always have so much color in your yard!

Here in Bton, I think the pile of snow by the mailboxes may be gone in the next day or two. Well, one takes ones signs of spring where one can get them.

I hope it will be lovely. I won't get much done this spring, though, since I can't really garden right now. I hate to lose a year.

Yes, I'm waking up to sirdsong every morning and it's bliss.

My snowdrops and crocuses made it nicely, and the daffs are forging skywards too. Perennials are pruned in anticipation... I'm feeling almost gardner-like, it's scary! :D

Kate and I were discussing the need to prune our crepe myrtles (sp?) yesterday. It is pruning time.

The last of the snow pretty much melted earlier this week and now the bulbs are making up for lost time - I'd swear the spikes of crocus greenery have went from not there to at least an inch in a matter of days! And I see that I might have a few poppies coming back. :) LOL! Now I have to decide where'm I going to plant all of the seeds I harvested. (At least I have a month a half to mull that one over!)
