I've been lazy. I know, I know. Derby's been fun, and so have the afterparties. I'm definitely becoming part of the league and not just with people attached to the league. The past two bouts, I've not had to buy my beers thanks to one of the fans. And better yet, his girlfriend is going to volunteer to be a non-skating official. After putting ( Read more... )

I won't try and wave you away from it, because experience is never (ultimately) a bad thing, but I will say this: Please be careful with the polyamory thing. I hate to see my friends get hurt, and ensuring the level of communication that's absolutely necessary for keeping a poly relationship functioning without lots of fighting, jealousy, and other badness is pretty hard. It's a ridiculous level of upfront and honest, and is hard to maintain. *hugs* You are an awesome dude, and I just don't want any bad to come your way.

I appreciate the concern, and it may turn out pretty spectacularly trainwreck-y, but I'm pretty obsessively up front about things, even to the point that keeping my big mouth shut would be more beneficial. Secondly, I'm not a particularly jealous person. I realize that there are some things I cannot or will not be willing to do, and should I find myself in a relationship, I'd want my partner(s) to be able to scratch that itch in a safe, trusted environment, even if I really would rather be somewhere else when they scratched it. And of course, I'd expect the same treatment of me.

I've been single for over five years. FIVE YEARS. I'm willing to risk some badness for something that actually makes sense to me. I'm a nerd, I'm never satisfied with doing something the easy way. ;)
