Question about Gundanium

Does anyone remember if Gundanium is an element or an alloy? A compound maybe? Is it the same across the board in all series, timelines and translations?

When I do a Google search for Gundanium it usually comes up with "Gundanium alloy" but all those references are regarding Wing. I thought that in 00 it was an ore mined on the moon, but I could ( Read more... )

Okay, I could be totally wrong, but I thought I'd seen it referenced in G00 as "Gundanium alloy."

It's at least from Wing and UC, but I don't recall any mention of it from 00. This page looks like it has a lot of good info:
http://gundam.wikia.com/wiki/Gundanium_Alloy

"According to GundamOfficial.com, Gundarium is a super high-tensile alloy originally known as Luna Titanium. Originally intended for use inside thermonuclear reactors, this alloy's superb strength, durability, heat resistance and radiation-absorbing properties make it an ideal material for mobile suit armor.

The alloy is first used in the RX-78 Gundam, and later renamed Gundarium Alpha in honor of this famous mobile suit. After the One Year War, the material is further refined by renegade Principality of Zeon soldiers at the asteroid base Axis. The Axis researchers develop an improved lightweight version called Gundarium Gamma."

It's the new name for Luna Titanium.

Atleast that's what it is in Universal Century.

actually, the other name for Luna Titanium is Gundarium.

Gundanium Alloy is, afaik, exclusive from Wing.

E-Carbon Plating is the only material I remember being used in 00 -- Gundanium was popularly used in Wing (it's what the five main Gundam were made out of,) where "mining" it was unique to the colonies iirc.
