I know what you mean. I`m so scared to go out of state and then end up hating it. Right now I`m planning on maybe going to Huntington University in Indiana for Digital Media Art. Everything about it seems perfect, except that fact that is so far away from home. :( God will lead and open doors. It seems like you`re heading the right direction ;)

Not to ruin your skydiving metaphor....but I with think that if you went skydiving out of a plane without a parachute you'd have a little more to deal with then just a "mouthful of sod and a few broken ribs". And then, of course, you would have to deal with the fact that the college probably wouldn't look nicely upon the fact that you jumped out out of a plan with no parachute...it doesn't speak highly of you. hehe.

i know you probably don't want to, but the rest could come from loans, if it's a school you want to go to, i totally think you should go, california is really nice, i'll be hitting up L.A. for Grad School so make sure you don't rule out any place because of money, enjoy your one life, go to Biola, God could not be say more of a yes with all He's already provided for you to go there
