Internships can be frustrating. There will be dry spells. Big ones. Keep your eyes peeled and ask people if you can help or just watch.
And I hear Atlanta is a rough place socially. That there's a lot of yuppies and up tight people. But have you looked around to find some place to socialize? You could join a gym, a book club, volunteer at an animal shelter. Whatever gets you concentrating less on being miserable. I'm sure you're a busy lady, but carve out sometime to not be alone.
And there are good people in this world. Sometimes you have to look for them or set the right example. Wish I could give you a big hug right now. Miss you and come visit soon!
You sound like how I have sounded throughout this past year. I imagine it is very different moving to a place for a job than it is to attend school. And Atlanta is...well...Atlanta... But take hear that in a way, you have done this before, and in another way, you can do this again. There are good things.
I don't know who the indecent, yuppies, and up tight people are that you guys are talking about (well, there are some...), but I certainly do not associate with them!!!
Some of the greatest people I have ever met are here in the Atlanta area. Why don't you come hang out with me some time?? I am not indecent... am I???
I am sorry you are feeling sad, girl!!!! Want to go to dialog in the dark with me???? Or lunch or SOMETHING???
There are a lot of horrible people in the world and almost all of them seem to live in Atlanta. There are lots of yuppies. There are lots of rich business people who would sooner run you over than flash a smile or say something nice. There are also people from all over the world traveling through the ATL who consider the south an ignorant, back waters place (they aren't always wrong
( ... )
little 5 points can suck my ass. it's way to trendy there and cliquish. so I've been going to east atlanta village. and oakhurst. I dig oakhurst and so far eav.
yeah, l5p just reminds me of all that I hated at scad. and scensters make me shutter.
yeah, I was just hanging out in buckhead too much. now those people are sleezy.
but I'm going to nerd trivia this tuesday at 8 if you want to join me. I'll shoot you a text. cause I totally need team mates.
lol, i see your point. there are quite a few tourists types to be found in L5P. Most of the shop owners I've met actually live in Oakhurst. I have not been there yet, but I will now put it on a list of the places I want to visit.
Buckhead is horrible. I've gone shopping there before and people don't even respond to you unless you look filthy rich. It's a downer indeed.
