Kidney Stone, Dammit

One minute I felt very well, indeed. The Mister and I were going to our monthly luncheon meeting with a group of friends at Haab's Restaurant in Ypsilanti, I was deciding what to order for lunch and feeling happy about seeing our friends.

The next minute I felt very, very ill, but figured it would pass because I'd had similar spells in the past ( Read more... )

Oh my dear! {{{HUGS *gently*}}} Oh my, my deepest sympathies. I am so sorry you have gone through that. But I'm glad you're not he road to recovery. Thank goodness for modern medicine.

Thank you, dear. Am I reading in too much, or have you too experienced the exquisite discomfort of a kidney stone? I'm hoping not. The descriptions I've heard are correct: it is very similar to childbirth in intensity. Wow!

I am recovering quickly, just still feeling tired. The dog doesn't understand why I want to stroll in leisurely fashion instead of walk energetically when I take her, but she's happy just to be out in the fresh air with one of her humans.

No, I've never had a kidney stone and I had two c-section so I never had the "full" childbirth experience, though I did go into labor with my second, but she came out c-section too for fear she might be so big like my first I might tear open my old c-section scar during delivery. My first had a head so huge, he couldn't pass through my pelvis. If he was my second, he would have fit, but he had a 95th percentile head (22" and 10 lb 7 oz).

As for the dog, one thing I saw in Hawaii was that someone took their dog out for a walk with their car. The two dogs ran out in front on a small back country road withteh car close behind keeping pace. Dogs were out, running and happy.

Rest and get well.

If I'm being honest, I should say kidney stone pain is like "labor of childbirth," because my son was also delivered via a C-section. Still hurt, though...

Thank goodness for modern medicine! I suppose forceps might somehow still have enabled your older son's birth, but all things considered, it sounds like the dangers just didn't merit any waiting around to find out!

Walking the dogs from the car... =^)
