Upset with the 6/26 Daily Show (I PROMISE it's relevant...)
I am HUGE Jon Stewart fan, and have been enjoying the Daily Show for years. However, I caught Tuesday night's episode and am pretty upset with their staff.
The moment of Zen (which plays during the end credits) was guinea pigs! They were costumed and being passed around. I was calling my husband to make sure he saw how adorable it was, when they slowly faded from these cute guinea pigs to a cooked guinea pig on a plate.
Now, I know this happens in Peru and other places in South America, but I don't want to think about it. OR see it, especially when I'm supposed to be entertained and amused. I am not so upset that guinea pigs do get eaten in other cultures, but that they would be callous enough to mock our beloved pets' consumption on TV. They would NEVER do that with a dog, although dogs are eaten in some Asian countries.
Am I being totally insane?
