Room 304 [late afternoon]

Aug 28, 2009 10:36

Claudia's side of the room was far too clean and organized now. Her many (many many) shoes, skirts, and art supplies were shoved into suitcases and boxes and she was curled up on her bed looking depressed.

Time to say goodbye to everyone, Claud.

The door was open.

Priestly had figured on giving her space to pack (since what he'd prefer they do would be . . . well, counterproductive to getting anything else done), but other than that, wanted to spend as much time with Claudia as possible.

So he was back after not too long, rapping his knuckles on the open door, and trying to keep an upbeat attitude, a couple of t-shirts bundled under his arm.

Claudia looked up at him and wibbled, then pulled it together. "I think I just set some kind of packing record," she said.

"Well, that's 'cause you rule." Priestly shrugged. "Got a little bit of extra room anywhere? I, uh, kinda wanted to give you a t-shirt."

Wow, that sounded dumb out loud.

Claudia didn't think so. "Awwwwwwwww," she said. "That's so sweet!"

Griff wandered upstairs, disliking this part of the Fandom experience more than anything, and stood in the doorway. "I expect you're taking the satellite dish hat and fleeing, then?"

"The hat got its own bag and everything," Claudia said with a tiny smile. "Hi."

"Hi." Griff toed at a bit of carpeting. "Least you won't have to suffer through the next influx of aliens."

"Or the zombie invasion," Claudia said. "Or the day we can only find our left shoes or something."

She sighed.

"I'll miss it."

Sookie tentatively knocked on the doorframe, a small box in her hands as she leaned in the doorway. "Darn, I was hopin' maybe you'd be sticking around after all."

"I wish," Claudia practically wailed. "I don't want to go. The transcript got all screwed up."

"Can't you argue with them?" Sookie asked plaintively.

"I tried, omigod," Claudia said. "And now Mom thinks I don't love them or want to see them or something. She gives great guilt trips."

"Hey," Zayne said, returning to the room. He didn't really want to hang around while Claudia was packing. That would have been kind of depressing. "Are you just about ready to go?"

"Almost," she said, frowning. "But I got your bags ready for your friends!"

"Thank you so much for that," Zayne said. "Can I see them?"

Claudia rummaged among all the boxes and found the bag of bags she'd set aside.

The bags were covered in glitter and came in various neon shades of pink, yellow, orange and green. One had stripes! They were beaaaaautiful. Truly.

"Here!"
