...that is weird. Maybe mine is more currently active? That's literally the only way I could see this making sense at all.

Maybe because your journal started its activity after Social Capital calculations began? :\
It would be nice if LJ actually told the users how it calculated Social Capital rather than keeping it black-boxed...
