I'm happy to report that the day has had no more adventures

The drive to work this morning was...not one I ever want to repeat.  This was a morning of close calls from idiot drivers, missing exits because jerks wouldn't let us over, and...one not so lucky pedestrian.  From the way he was lying in the street I highly doubt he was still alive ( Read more... )

Oh, wow. That's so sad. D':

...one of my sister's classmates was killed early this morning, around 5:00 AM, in a drunk driver accident. My sister didn't know her, but some of her friends were close to her. It's so, so sad.

And I agree with what you said about the driver. If it were me, I would...I just can't. If I accidentally killed someone like that - even if he was being an idiot like you described (and I completely agree, I can't stand it when people are so lax with the safety of themselves or others) - I would take that to my grave.

*nodnod* It is sad. From the stuff on the road, mom and I think he may have been homeless, but he's not the only one to go carelessly crossing that road.

The really scary part? It had /just/ happened. No emergency people there or anything yet. We'd likely just missed seeing it happen. Probably only just missed being the ones to hit him by the amount of time it took for me to open the mail box and pull up the flag before mom and I drove off for work...
