Rose bullied her way out of the clinic early the next morning. It was more difficult than she'd expected, but she played the sympathy card and the 'no, really, I'm totally better, pay no attention to that stumbling' card to everyone she came across, and finally she'd managed to get to the cells where Victor was being held

Running toward the pair, silver stake in hand, Dimitri had been all too aware of what had happened when they'd found Mr. Nagy's body drained of blood. If someone on campus had gone Strigoi, they'd be headed to free Victor and it was his duty to stop them.

Rose scowled up at him. She was trying to sleep here. "Ow," she complained, still scowling. "Victor. He said we had to want each other for the spell to work. Did you?"

There was a bit of mental cursing happening in Russian. First, it was inappropriate. Second...it was very inappropriate. They were to be Lissa's Guardians - it just wasn't done.

"Yes, Roza. I did want you," he said, voice a little heavy. "But it can't happen again."

She nodded, half-conscious but still pretty much perfectly happy being held by him. "Cause of the age thing," she agreed. "And you're my mentor. I know."

He managed to open the door to the clinic when they reached it, still holding her in his arms. "Yes, that's it exactly." She didn't need to hear more reasons as she seemed accepting of the situation.

"I know," she repeated, not even noticing the shouting and bustling of the clinic. Rose half-cuddled into him. "It's good."

Oh, it probably wasn't.

"Good," Dimitri told her, passing her over to the concerned clinic staff before he headed off to let some people know there was a dead Strigoi in the detention center.
