The presence of that tall, hot Russian guardian - Dimitri - at the meeting with Kirova became clear to Rose fairly soon after it started.

“Principal Winchester from Fandom gave a good report of you, Miss Hathaway,” Kirova said, eyeing Rose almost suspiciously.  “She said your behavior and comportment has greatly improved over the summer.”

He took his leave of the Headmistress and followed, using his long legs to catch up and fall in step beside Rose.

Dimitri had been looking forward to her return, having noticed the bond between her and Vasilisa back when he'd retrieved the pair from Portland. It was an old concept and he was curious to see it in action.

That didn't mean he spoke. He was already assessing.

Rose stomped down the halls and clattered down the stairs, automatically heading outside into the darkness. Once she was there though, she - didn't have a clue where she was going, and she turned to Dimitri, her arms crossed over her chest. "Where to, Comrade?"

He ignored her slight, and answered in lightly accented voice, "The guardian gym. I assume you're ready to be assessed?"

She rolled her eyes and headed off across the commons, not waiting for him. "Would it matter?"

He was tall. She needed the head start.
