When Rose woke up, her head was pounding. It wasn't surprising really given that Dimitri's fist had smashed into it - Dimitri. She sat up quickly, looking around the darkened room and trying to figure out where she was. Only her head hurt. Her stomach was fine so there weren't any Strigoi around

Giving Rose time to wake up also allowed Dimitri to inform Galina of the success of his trip to Fandom. After organizing for food and clothing delivery later in the day, he headed up to the room to check on his guest.

Dimitri punched in the code and pushed the door open quietly only to find Rose beating a chair fruitlessly against the window.

The wave of nausea warned Rose of a Strigoi's approach, and she whirled, racing towards him, the chair held in front of her with its legs out.

Rose realised as she slammed into him that the Strigoi was Dimitri and those same conflicted feelings of love and hatred emerged, even stronger than before.

Shoving her back, the door clicked shut behind him. He'd known she wouldn't react well, but hitting him with a chair? This was child's play.

God, hitting him felt like she was bouncing off a brick wall. Rose rushed him again, hoping somehow for better luck this time as she swung the chair at him.
