The testing was always draining for Dimitri. ( The melodrama was exhausting. )

fact: rose is a moron, people: lissa, places: court, people: rose

By now, the guardians knew well enough to retreat back to their guard post instead of attempting to overhear Lissa's conversations with Dimitri. Acting the princess apparently had some benefits.

She looked at him with worry, taking a seat in a chair brought for her as she waited for Dimitri to speak. The questioning had had a different tone than it had had in the past. Rose was part of that, true, but there'd also been the air of a bit of a sideshow attraction. Look at the Strigoi instead of thinking about the Council's actions over the past days.

Dimitri was still brooding away, finding some of the questioning left him a bit concerned with how his business had been running with his absence. Mostly because he did employ some humans and despite them knowing what they were working for, it felt wrong leaving them like that.

Okay, fine, if he didn't want to speak...

"You and rose worked well together today," she commented blandly.

"She is good with children," Dimitri answered, letting Lissa take that as she wanted.
