So a while ago I noticed that I couldn't call my brother or my sister-in-law because their cellphone was shut off. I did not know this would be the one warning before Anna LEFT my brother

Yeah. Now he has a three-bedroom apartment he won't be able to afford. Good thing the rent is split with two other people but I don't know if that will be enough. He wants to fight her in court to get his kids back.
She told him that she would be back next Friday. He's already convinced that she isn't coming back but I think if he waits and she doesn't come back and doesn't contact him, he could have a better case. I don't think you can just take someone's kids away across several states, under the assumption that it is temporary, and then actually never come back.
Okay. I'm trying to understand this, so bear with me. So, you're saying that your sister in law decided to run away over a cell phone bill? She just up and left, taking her kids with her to stay with people that (from what I can tell) she doesn't know too well?
Weird. Is she bi-polar? Maybe there's part of the story missing? Either way, that sucks for your bother.
It seems that way! My brother told me that one of the things he read that she had written to her ex was that Anna wouldn't have to 'be told how things are going to be.' That's paraphrased but he said it more than once in the same way so I know he must have read it

Does she ever have sudden episodes where she's highly energized, talks rapidly, becomes aggressive or does impulsive things (could be anything from buying random things to rearranging the house)? Are these episodes followed by longer stretches of depression? If so, then she's definitely bipolar (baring any outstanding Axis 3 preexisting conditions). The great news is that it's one of the few mood disorders that respond well to medication. From working with teens suffering with it, I can tell you that it is VERY obvious when they're off their meds

The courts are almost always biased against men, no matter what the circumstances, but that book has some pretty good tips of things he can do.
