The hell?

Damn you, tv networks! Fringe's Kirk Acevedo gets fired, My Name is Earl gets canceled (Reaper too, but I saw that coming *sigh), but other stuff that is only so-so or total drivel gets renewed. Argh! And on a side note with no judgments as to present quality because I haven't seen this show in years, but when is Smallville going to end? Because ( Read more... )

These days they milk shows for all they're worth. It's rare that a show can keep going for so long without being canceled, so they'll just keep making 'em until people get sick of it, they run out of story ideas, ratings drop, and the network cancels it. Seriously, when *is* Smallville going to end?! I stopped watching it after the second season or so, I could've sworn it would've ended by now. It started out really nicely and it got weirder and weirder as it went, but I guess people still dig it!

I know it's all just a cash cow as far as the networks are concerned, but it's still irritating to see great shows canceled in their prime. I still liked Smallville in its third season, but I stopped after that. I thought I heard something about it ending a couple of years ago, but apparently I was mistaken.

Reaper's getting cancelled?! Nooooo! Jeez, first Pushing Daisies and The Middleman, now Reaper and Terminator: the Sarah Connor Chronicles. You're killing me, TV! *weeps*

Smallville.. I've thought that show was dead and gone sooo many times, but somehow it's still around. It can't go on for too much longer, though. Seriously. I mean, he doesn't even live in Smallville anymore- shouldn't they at least change the name to Metropolis? Heh, maybe they'll start up a new show with that title and just keep on rolling... *weeps some more*

I haven't gotten around to seeing Star Trek a second time. It.. well, it feels like a movie you should see with other people, and, as of this moment, I don't really have anyone to go with. Yeah. I suck. Fuera de Carta sounds adorable, though I'd be shocked to see it in any theater around here.

Yeah, I saw it on Ask Ausellio. *cries* My poor show. So much better than that Top Model tripe. And I was just getting interested in Sarah Connor too. Maybe I'll still watch the two seasons there are and curse the networks during the last episode.

It should be called Metropolis. Honestly, it's just false advertising by now.

It's so rare for me to see movies with people that I don't mind. It's usually the big summer blockbusters that I do see with people since we all make more of an effort to reverse them for mass viewing. But I suspect everyone here has seen it by now. Even my dad saw it and he waits until the second week to see anything.

*sigh* Well, hopefully they'll manage to finish the arc in a somewhat satisfying way, not leave us with a cliffhanger. SCC had a lot of potential, it really did. Especially the last few episodes. Without giving anything away, I was really interested in finding out where they were going with the season finale. Oh well, I guess.

LOL, no kidding.

I really should make the effort to invite someone- if only to reconnect with some high school friends so I have something to do. That's my main issue.

I think the producers might have seen this as a possibility, so hopefully they won't leave cliffies anywhere. But it will still be sad to see it end.

I'm wondering if my friends have seen Fuera de Carta yet. That's a nice excuse to go see it again. I really liked that movie.

What's going on exactly with you now? Are you done with MA and London? Sorry if I pissed you posting on that....

I've finished with all the course work except for the thesis. That's due in September and then I'm finally done. It feels so far away. *cries* I'm going back to London on the 27th of June, doing some traveling, write up this thing. Then I'll be moving back to Chicago, I guess. It's cheaper while I struggle to find a job.

Isn't Kirk the guy that played Alvarez on Oz? Why was he fired? Not that I even watch Fringe...

I know, I'm so mad about all the good stuff that was canceled, most of them way too soon. I mean, The Unusuals only got 5 episodes! *bitter*

Ooh that looks like an interesting movie. I wonder if it'll show up online at some point...

You're coming to Chicago? Cool! That's where I want to live someday, before I move to California. :)

He is. I think I might have squeed when I first saw him there, which is kinda silly, but Alvarez is one of my favourite characters in Oz. And the guy he plays here is so casually cool. I have no idea why he got fired. It can't be story reasons. That doesn't make any sense. Fringe is awesome, by the way. I think about it and I start bouncing. Literally. I haven't been this excited about a show since Alias.

*weeps over Earl* And I was so looking forward to season 5.

It might... I'd dearly love to see it before it comes out on DVD, which I greatly suspect I will buy.

Yup. I lived in Chicagoland for three and a half years, though only in the city itself for 9 months, sadly. My dad grew up there, so I've got a bunch of family that I keep missing when I'm in other parts. It is freeezing cold in winter, though. But it is a really awesome city. It gets stellar reviews from everyone I know who's been there, which makes me smile. When are planning on doing the moving? After you graduate?

Alvarez is one of my favs too :) Wow, that's cool that you like it that much! I watched one ep randomly a while back, and it was pretty good, but not enough to keep me hooked. Maybe I'd like it more if I started from the beginning.

Oh neat. My dad grew up in Chicago too! Well, the suburbs. And I've been there a few times myself and loved it. Though yeah, it was freezing the time I went in winter. Yup, sometime after I graduate. Once I've figured out how to get a job. I might try living on my own here in VA first, though. Once step at a time.
