This is really great. I just love both the stream-of-consciousness approach and all the second guessing, bargaining, anger, relief... it's like the five stages of denial of roof-tossing! This is just really well done, skillfully written, with great characterization. Thanks so much for writing!

I was so hoping someone would tackle this prompt! And this is great, love how his thought-process kind of spirals down into self-hatred until he knows Peter is okay. Aww, poor Claude. But then that makes the fact that Peter is okay even more powerful, which is awesome.

Thank you! I've noticed that my Claude at least has serious self-worth issues in general. Well, when your best friend doesn't think twice about killing you on company orders it doesn't do wonders for your self-esteem. The poor guy needs some Peter love.
