I got a slashy dream last night. That hasn't happened for years. The gay movie marathons I've been having lately are definitely responsible for that. Note: By marathon, I mean that I've been watching entire movies in one sitting. I haven't done that since who knows when. A year, maybe. I don't know if anyone here has Netflix, but their Instant

I watched a gay movie today too. It was a horror film, with vampires, called Dead Serious. It was pretty bad, but it had potential, if they'd had a budget of more than $50 that they didn't spend entirely on fake blood and if they had bothered to put just a touch more focus on the interesting couple instead of the very dull (and het, go figure) couple. Though I must admit the guy in the boring het couple had some genuinely funny lines.
I'm not sure about the page number/word count thing, but I do know 50,000 words is roughly 175 pages. Boy, I hated having word limits instead of page limits in England. How can you get away with having your last page be three lines long? Very frustrating.

That does sound pretty bad, but hey, funny lines. The ones I've been watching have been more the serious type that make you think, so I'll probably be watching something lighter tomorrow.
Huh. 50,000 is what I have right now. Wow. I actually prefer word limits. That way I don't have to worry about the font since I prefer to avoid Times New Roman. And there were those times when I...um... may have tweaked the official word count somewhat. Hey, they took points of for being over the word count and there was nothing I could cut without it being a disaster. And if no one's counting pages, who's to know?

As for the page/word count dilemma, I rarely count words unless I have to for a challenge entry or something. But when I did heroes_bigboom I wrote a 10,000 word fic that came out to about 23 pages. So maybe do the math from there?

Mm. I've got a chunk of 10,000 at 27 pages. The tricky thing about counting pages is that they vary according to how spaced out the words are. I've had 3 pages of tight narrative with the same word count of 6 pages of dialogue, which is why I prefer word counts. I'm just wondering how thick this thing would be in a book format.
