If we're talking about running or driving, we DO only judge by who gets there first. Other types of finish lines require different rules to judge them by. Winning is not always crossing a line. I know you don't mean a real race, or it wouldn't have been a metaphorical question. I can only assume you mean life in general, in which case, it's not a race after all. Crossing the finish line of life is kind of just dying, IF you're making a race out of it. You have to have a goal in mind.

lol... life as a race to the afterlife.
i do think this says something about the parodixical root of this recent philosophical outpouring, at least as i've seen it. a core belief seems to be "when i win, i find peace," be that perhaps in death or some other form of repose. i still see this as an anxious foundation to live from.
and yet, within this paradox, is the desire to find an ongoing fulfillment from the finish line, an active role at the end of the race. is it then a race to the top? what is the prize that you're racing for?

i'm starting to think you deliberately set out to provoke confusion. the fact that you refuse to elaborate beyond vague admonitions seems to support this hypothesis.

I thought it was a comment on racial prejudices vs having an objective view of each individual person's effectiveness.

Or am I totally off base?
