6 - I alphabetize my dvd's and cd's, but not books. Although I do tend to shelve them by subject and try to keep books by the same authors together (I think I get this from working in a bookstore so long). And tell Josh I said you are right, it is perfectly normal, and he's the weird one. ;)
I don't alphabetize anything, and my dvd collection is a mess. I know where everything is, though, so it works. I always put a movie back in the same odd place I pulled it from. There's no rhyme or reason, but it's a system, nonetheless.
My books are shelved by author and mostly by genre. Sort of. Kinda.
Right now my bedroom curtains are garbage bags Yes! Someone else who's thought to do this too. =) In college I had light curtains up on my apartment window--but it did very little to block the large streetlight that was just outside my window (made midnight look like midday in my room!). I didn't know what to do, but some spark of genius (well, I thought it was), thought to tape together some garbage bags and tape that contraption up to block the entire window. Voila! Instant light-blockage.
I alphabetize my DVDs and CDs. How the heck else would a person FIND anything? (The books, sadly, are too widely scattered around the house for proper organizing.)
Fitted sheets also make fair temporary window coverings. Beats flashing the neighbors, at any rate.
And yeah, finding work you can do from home is ROUGH. (I haven't had a lot of luck as yet, either.)
