AKICILJ: Cutting Cotton Jersey

Burning Man bearing down fast, and so much to do. For instance, right now I need to cut a few yards of T-shirt fabric into long, reasonably even strips. With a pair of scissors only somewhat sharper than a midlevel spork. Are there techniques that will make this easier

That seems like cheating somehow. Plus, there are already at least three pairs in this apartment (all my housemate's). Granted, the others are even worse than the scissors I'm using, but still.
