...I'm please to hear that some of the Muslims understood how important this holiday is to the Hans-Chinese, and that this is a /show/-tolerance after all to bandaid up the other oppression...though I definitely agreed with the Chinese policy of limiting external influence on internal religious development. 1. It was the Chinese government that made this decision, and the Chinese for the most part are either a)Proudly godless atheists, b)Buddhist, c)mixture of a & b, or d)Various /none/Christian-Judo-Islam religions.
2. This was done as a show, and it was the /Chinese/ who decided to do this as a show.
3. The Muslims understood.

...also, traditionally, the Muslims/Arabs and the Chinese are no strangers to each other, for thousands of years, we are right next door, the Chinese would be much more resentful of Western imposition than Muslim influences.

On Chinese new year day, we started off with a restrained vegetarian meal, and it wasn't until the night that we brought out the feasts. Chinese culture have much less conflict with the Middle East than with the Christian West.

...what I do find resentful, is when Korea banned dog meat due to American hand wrangling.
