I always did think it funny that Kira and Dax were obviously intended to be read as friends when they didn't have that much in common, as you say. I do get a sense sometimes that Kira disapproves of some of Dax's behaviour, but it was a terribly wasted opportunity that they never really showed what those two talked about when they were together.

It is good, the parts of the song actually match the parts of the series shown, and girlanachronism's description is pretty apt: Faiths feelings for buffy are overwhelmed by the constant feeling of being worthless, and her defense mechanism of sex and violence.
