Has anyone else seen the film Gay Republicans? I just saw it for the first time and I thought it was really interesting. What did you think?

"Gay Republicans" rank about as low on my to see list as "Yentl" which really sucked.

I know quite a few screaming conservatives as I know screaming liberals, both gay and straight.

The issues of small government, hawkish for. policy, less taxes, de-crease in regulation, strong military..blah blah blah... does appeal to a certian set.

In someways I feel sorry for people (both gay and straight) who get get bashed....because of the cross-bearing flag waving Crypto-"fill-in-the-blank" set withing the Republican Party who use the abortion, sexuality and moralist bullshit plank for thier political purposes. In the end it's not about ideology it's the "same us v. them bullshit" that liberals and conservatives use vice-versa.

I haven't seen it, but it looks interesting. I'm an active member of my state's Democratic party, but learning more about where other people are coming from is always a good thing.

What I find more interesting (and I am a gay Republican) is that the film was made by Wash West, the guy behind such porn classics as The Hole and Dr. Jerkoff and Mr. Hard.

I never checked into the other stuff he made. Wow. Porn to documentary film maker is quite a jump industry wise.
