I knew this was going to happen here in my home state of Alabama, but I have to laugh at the comments of utter morons like Joseph Rempert, Jr.

*mind boggles* It's not a vote on whether or not the oh-so-manly heterosexual voters want to marry guys themselves!! Gah.

I'm surprised we got the 19% we did.

That said, everyone I know that voted voted against the amendment. Most of them were probably here in Huntsville. I want everything north of the Tennessee River to secede from this state.

Though, a note:

The amendment also states that Alabama will not recognize same-sex marriages performed in another state. People who are more up on their Constitutional law: is this even legal?

no. especially since the FMA was struck down, but however illegal it may be, it doesnt matter if no one in the federal government is willing to say so.
