I made the same point on my Twitter account yesterday when I read about it.
I said: A great question for the Obama Administration? If you're for gay rights why are you wasting time and money appealing rulings?
The real answer has to do with the people in the DoJ. They're government officials and they wanna get paid to look useful so they appeal the ruling to make the lawyers there happy. But irritates me for no end for defending an undefendable law.
But yeah I had very little expectations from this Administration anyways. I voted on who I thought would do a better job neither were in the "Coke" or "Pepsi" (a great euphemism describing the Democrats and the Republicans).
