Hollywood now opening arms to gay characters, families

 Not that many of you weren't aware of it already, but it's a good article to read anyway. The go-to people for the "bigotry" side that's apparently required to be included so as not to make the writer look "prejudiced" or something give their take, too. This is actually my biggest objection to the way mainstream journalism has taken a turn. In an effort to quell the shouting about how much of a liberal bias they have, most formerly-reputable outlets have taken to simply stating both sides' views and leaving it at that; while this is nice in theory - a very "we report, you decide" kind of a deal - there is a lot to be said for putting an argument in context or pointing out where a person's own ideas are blatantly contradictory and/or complete bullshit.

As for the rest of the article, I'm kind of confused because the amount of gayness on tv and in movies has actually backslid the last couple years, but hey. It's a big paper and you need to fill it somehow, right?

It does seem they'll print any opinion, no matter how extreme or utterly devoid of fact it may be. I'd also wager this has something to do with why politics is so polarized now.
