Mrs. Robinson, I think you're trying to seduce me...

There is a push now in Northern Ireland to try to get people to download the song "Mrs. Robinson" to get it on the pop charts there.

Anything that both rids the UK of a homophobic politician and introduces people to Simon & Garfunkel has my full and unqualified approval.

This is staggering hubris.

I now feel desperately sad for the woman - she is broken... her values, her reputation, her career, her marriage... and in deep emotional distress.

I've removed my article about her from GayChristians.com because I just think right now she needs a bit of the compassion she couldn't find for gay and lesbian couples when she was strong, empowered, self-confident, and riding success.

I hope very much this experience of her own humanity will challenge her previous hard views (homosexuality as 'abomination' etc) and make her review her certainties, and change her views.

I think that it's great that you're able to find compassion and understanding for her. What she said was wrong, but we need to take into account the personal insecurity and family back ground that probably went into her homophobic remarks.

I honestly do feel sorry for her, just as I felt sorry for Elliot Spitzer.

Okay, wait a minute. Putting aside the gay people on that scale, she thinks that people who rape adults are worse than people who rape children? You'd think that even the right-wing religious bampots would disagree with this.

No. She's saying that those who rape children are the worst, followed by gays, followed by (presumably) rapists and murderers.

A BBC programme accused her husband of knowing about the dodgy dealings and not reporting them, which is why he's getting flak. He denies the allegation, and says that his leave of absence is to be with his wife while she works through her illness.

Oh, and you seem to have misread her quote: she's claiming homosexuality is worse than child molestation.

Hey, in the Amazing Mrs. Pritchard the PM resigned because of her husband's indiscretions.

Hey, if you can get a 19-year-old when you're 60...well, that's impressive.

It's tough getting a loan to start a small business these days. Apparently, sleeping with someone old enough to be your grandmother is an easier way to raise £50,000 than begging from your bank manager.
