Here's the story.
RNC Chairman Michael Steele is saying that gay marriage will hurt small businesses because they'll be forced to pay for spousal insurance for people who weren't previously covered. I'll give him credit for coming up with an original argument that doesn't boil down to religious objections, the "eww" factor, or the supposed threat to straight marriages. However, it's still bigoted, and really, just how many small businesses are going to be overwhelmed by having to add coverage for gay spouses? Small businesses, by definition, don't have many employees, and it seems unlikely to me that many of them would employ more than a handful of partnered gays.
