Things have been improving, but socialism has often targeted homosexuality. Communism, especially, but even Marz and Engels were homophobic. And in Latin America, Castro is known as a huge homophobe.

Although I think it's fair to say that today, generally speaking, most socialists embrace equality for homosexuals.

Think about this: socialism SOMETIMES supports gay rights, conservatism never supports gay rights, but liberalism (at least if not the politically pandering kind) ALWAYS supports the rights of all people, including gay rights.
