I've been dabbling in various fandoms and lurking in more for well over a decade now, and I've learned a thing or fifteen about how fandom trends distort canon. So . . . pick a fandom that's big enough on LJ, DW, and Tumblr for even people who don't know the canon to be aware of it. I'll tell you what I would think the canon was about, based on

The two main characters are Mike and Chuck, who are desperately, epically in love. Mike drives too fast and hugs everybody. Chuck is a nerd who can't drive. They live with another couple, Texas (who is kind of a numbskull) and Julie (who is a catgirl), and with an old organic gardener named Jacob and a mechanic named Dutch, who makes dear little robots that have dear little robot misunderstandings and cause wacky shenanigans. They live in post-apocalyptic Detroit, which is ruled by Kane, who terrorizes the populace with robots. The only way to defeat him is with drag racing. Other characters include Julie's dominatrix friend Claire, Mike's evil ex-girlfriend Kaia, Mike's evil ex-boyfriend Red, and the Duke, who is obsessed with cars and molesting Chuck. At least 85% of all villains and ne'er-do-wells in this series want to molest Chuck, but the Duke is more determined than the rest.
