Rewatching "Chivalry"

I'd forgotten how much fun some of this is.  And I keep thinking, Why, oh why, didn't Sean Burns challenge and kill Kristin for giving him so much work?!?

(I still love Methos telling Kristin to pick the damn sword up, too.)

I love this episode for so many reasons. For one, it's the first episode we met Methos. Up until then we had only met Adam Pierson. And I don't think Duncan quite knew what to do with him.

I love Duncan in the flashbacks. So young and uncertain with Kristen, but trying to act like he knows what he's doing. So hurt when Kristen killed the woman he loved.

And how did Methos know about that? Reading Duncan's chronicles?

Of course, the nose painting is there too.

Oh, I think it's been implied Methos has read Duncan's chronicles. ::Grining:: And honestly, I'd watch the ep just said for the nose painting, the katana fight, and the challenge to Kristin, honestly.

But yeah, Duncan no more what had hit him than Richie did, honestly. ::grinning:: This is *definitely* where we start to meet Methos, who promptly falls in love next ep, but I also love Timeless. Perfect introduction to him, honestly, that dichotomy. (Perfect icon, by the way.)

1) I think my icon covers how much I love the episode.
2) Given, as I have frequently pointed out over the years, we knew very well Duncan took the heads of female immortals from previous episodes, I've always figured Kristin had more going on than just MacLeod's overblown sense of chivalry.
3) While it would've been nice if someone had taken her head long since, I wouldn't pass up the opportunity to hear Methos say, "A man who was born long before the age of chivalry."

...Which female immortals did he kill? He let Felice go, he let Annie go... Yeah, he did kill Nefertiri when she kept stalking Constantine. That's all I can think of. They didn't have Duncan kill many women in the show. That said, I'd have to agree, Duncan definitely imprinted on Kristin, probably what she meant to do with Rich.

We're in complete agreement on #3.

I should pop in my Highlander DVDs today. Methos is still my favorite.
