Ooooh.

It takes balls to bargain with the gods. But I can definitely believe in these two doing it.

Mead is sneaky stuff. I made a pyment once. It tasted like its chardonnay parent until halfway through, when the melon soared into a sweet high of flowers and ended as golden as summer sun, and smooth as can be. So one tended to have another glass.

And then one tended to fall down when one stood up, as it had an ABV of around 14%. That would be the mead parent.

That sounds like the wassail I used to make: cider, brown sugar, fruit, and spices cooked together, and then you added brandy, rum, and a little Triple Sec. Even letting some of the alcohol cook off, three mugs left you incapable of standing back up.... (Lost the recipe, damn it!!)

But yeah, those nuts would bargain with a god, and very precisely at that! Glad you liked it!

Bargaining with the gods, indeed! And two finer rascals to do it you'll rarely find. No doubt Persephone was pleased with the wine.

When she gets the wine, I imagine she will be. Yeah, those two are nuts. In the good ways. Glad you liked it!

Thank you! Glad you liked it! Bargaining with Hades? Only those two.

Lovely story, great atmosphere... makes me wonder if bribing Gods is one of the reasons Kastagir kept working to perfect Boom Boom.

Thanks! Hell, I think he's still perfecting boom-boom because he *can*. He keeps trying different woods to age it in lately. And they're both nuts, but in all the good ways.

Those two *shakes head* The trouble they can get into -- and I noticed, despite their being nice, and fairly polite, that they weren't backing down from the request. Wonder how many times they've done something similar -- and just what Duncan would've made of Darius doing this?

And yes, I agree with alexandralynch -- that mead is delightful, but sneaky, stuff.

Yeah, they were being perfectly courteous and very stubborn on the 'yes or no?' They thought it was, in fact, fair. Of course, they'd have been crazy to try anything that *wasn't*....
