13. Lammas Night, by Katharine Kurtz
For some reason I thought I was the only person in the world who had ever read this book. Good one!

Atlas Shrugged? Fountainhead would make my list out of sheer loathing. Ayn Rand is the devil. Seriously.

No, actually, a fair number of fans have read that one, I think. And I haven't read Ayn Rand, but the impression I get is that between her and Robbins, I'd have a wide enough range of writing styles to go find one of my own. I think. It was a lot of years ago, but on the other hand, it was an English teacher who was correcting my early fanfic! (An X-Men bit of silliness.)

Lammas Night was a very good book. Hard to find now though.

I'm guessing if you've read that one that you've also read
The Adept series?

I still have my old copy from the '80s, thank goodness. Yup, I've read the Adept books. I like the first three or four, but by the end of Death of an Adept, I was muttering about 'You know, at this point, I don't *care* which of them, just kill someone and get this over with, would you?'
