I do not need a new fandom. I do not want a new fandom. I am not acquiring a new fandom. Particularly a new fandom that has the potential to be pretty much h/h/h/h/H/c so much of the time.

All that said... there was a lot of squeeing over here. ::grins:: Sorry about the ruptured eardrums.

I didn't expect what they did with Bob, but I liked it a lot. And I thought the special effects were only there as needed, which I liked even more.

Yeah, the previews had me expecting more flashy lights and gratuitous fireballs- I like the way they kept it understated.

Speaking as a woman who loves the books... it was a really good job. Well worth watching or taping when it reruns in, um, 32 minutes from ::tick:: now.

I enjoyed it, although I know nothing about the books. Don't know that I'll actually record it...although I may wish later that I had. But I do think I'll keep tuning in every week. :)

The books are good, although one of them (5 maybe?) gets so dark in places that I almost can't reread it. But I have a low dark threshold these days, too. Good stuff, though. ::grin:: Fun show, though.

The 5th book is Death Masks. It's one of my favorites because Michael is one of my favorites. I could use an icon for him, but unlike Thomas I haven't been able to pick a quote for/about him. Er, it does feature the death of one of the Knights, and no matter how many times I read it my heart always goes in my throat when Nicodemus shoots Michael.

Yeah, that's the one that's just too dark for me to reread. It's good. It just hurts too much.

Well, yes, but dear gods, the angst in it! (Although, you know, Eureka needs a wizard living out in the woods. Just to bring him in to break doomsday machines where the failsafe has failed...)

SciFi is supposedly replaying it this afternoon? And it was going to be available on iTunes today.
