I am *so* pointing fingers about this one.

I'm writing crack!fic. I'm writing due South meets Highlander, or more properly, Highlander meets due South, and it's devohoneybee's fault, and sundara's fault, and eeep! But it's not actually raine-wynd's fault, even if she did collaborate. At least, I don't think it's her fault. But it might be. Also, in a comment too good not to share, she said, "Fraser doesn't have ( Read more... )

*makes sounds like a squeaky toy*

Your timing is superb, you know that? When I come home tonight, I will have all of due South. I can watch the RayK episodes for the first time. *happy dance* And then I will be all prepared for your crack fic.

I want a definition of crackfic. Is it because it makes the writers crazed? Or is that your friends who have been egging you on? They sound like good friends, if they're keeping you writing, at least from a reader's perspective.

Quick, somebody! Where's the Muse-Away? Rhi's infested!

::laughing:: The kind of story where every couple paragraphs the *writer* laughs herself half-sick about 'I'm writing what? And I can't *stop*?' seems to be crackfic. This one is *gleefully* insane, and a lovely antidote to the other one I'm writing right now. Yup, they're good friends, definitely!

::amused:: No chance you'll chase all the muses off, and really, do you want them annoyed? It's at least quiet back there. Either Roy left, or he's taking a nap. I'll settle for that.

Have only the vaguest notion of who the Colonel is, but if you think he'd get along with my OC Jason muse he's welcome to join him in the basement. Jason is getting very, very bored and bored muses are dangerous muses. ::evil grin::

Fall -- when the leaves fall, the temperatures fall, and the words fall gently and easily upon the page/screen? 8-)

Oooh yeah. ::cheerful:: I'm alternating between this and a fairly dark Connor & Duncan fic that's about, um, 2/3s done after this morning in the coffee shop. Who knew I'd develop a taste for writing longhand?

I've often found writing longhand is a great way to work out stories, it give your brain a while to figure out 'what next' since it takes longer to write than it does to think it up.

Oh, and thanks for the comment about my Icons the other day, here's another fun one to share. I don't make them, but I love trolling for them.

::laughing:: Seems to, yes, but then I find problems more easily when I'm typing it in. Things I didn't notice in longhand. *very* odd.

Thanks!

He is a wordy one, yes. I think the entire family a strong supporter of the 'never use one word when ten will do' principle.

His father's always been rather quieter in my head. Benton... not so much.
