Yup, still alive

Let's see: I ran away with my husband for our fifteenth anniversary. We got massages (yay Christmas gift certificates!), went to a museum (photos of Southern segregated black society from 1910-1950, and a superb Maxfield Parrish exhibit), slept in, read (he read Reliquary by Martha Wells with much snickering; I read His Majesty's Dragon by Naomi ( Read more... )

Hmm.. not sure this is for Matthew and Duncan, but have you ever listened to Dave Carter & Tracy Grammer? The latest album is just Tracy Grammer, as Dave died a few years back from a sudden heart attack, but their stuff is amazing. Certain songs just give me chills. They're folk, but I'm not sure everything is that quantifiable, you know? If you get a chance and like them, let me know. I'll send you some of their music. They're almost impossible to find in stores these days.

I first heard their stuff in a few vids that Melina did (on Killabeez website). http://seacouver.slashcity.net/vidland/vids.html

Go under LotR and listen to Disappearing Man, When I Go, & The Mountain.

"...and a superb Maxfield Parrish exhibit..."

Ooooo -- which museum, where?

"I think if I ever play in a shiny new fandom, I'll be the first to have heart failure from the shock, and save y'all the trouble."

I'm getting Eccleston's season of Dr Who when it comes out on July 4th -- you wanna borrow it? ::g::

Brooks Museum in Memphis. *Gorgeous* stuff, including some of the wall murals he did for one of the Vanderbilts and the full side 'Interlude'. Just *wow*.

::amused:: I might when you're done, yes. I'll ask after you start posting about the glee of DVD-ownership. {{hugs}} Thanks!

Oh, and the question anything thing? In one of the Aidan stories, she blesses someone's death, if I recall, by commending them to The Straight God. Do you know what comes up if you google The Straight God?

Somehow I don't think Edana was referring to Queer Eye for the Straight God.

::laughing:: Are you *serious*? oh, that's *terrible!*

(And I'll have to find that now. Too, too funny. Might have to reword it, just to avoid that....)

Billy Idol's "Rebel Yell"? Maybe not.
I don't have any real suggestions, I just wanted to express a "Woot!" at the thought of more Duncan and Matthew fic.
(I've been re-reading those fics, in honor of my plans to move to DC in less than a month.)
