Last bit of Escapade write-up: crossover suggestions from a Highlander panel

Mar 07, 2006 23:22

Somehow, Killabeez and Devohoneybee's panel, "We'll Always Have Paris (and Seacouver!)" segued quite neatly from "Why do we love this fandom so much even ten years later?" into "Look! It's the sensible black pumps of fandom, and here are some outfits it could go with!" As I was rooming next door to one of the moderators who led or co-moderated five panels, I somehow ( Read more... )

"I hope I haven't bored everyone!"

I am distinctly non-bored! But I'm also late for bed, with work in the morning. G'night!

Highlander is a gateway fandom.

Isn't it just? And a stargate fandom, where everything cna move through and collide...

Eeep! Sorry you ended up with all the notes! (I clearly was NOT running on all cylinders.) But I'm sure I speak for killabeez too in saying thanks for doing such a nice, clear, and thorough write-up. :)

::lol:: Well, I started unfolding them and went 'EEEP!' Then I shrugged and decided I was clearly writing more than I'd thought. Not a problem. If I screwed anything up, let me know and I'll edit the entry.

This was clearly the panel of my dreams. I love the list of possible crossovers (and you know it only skims the surface, too... HL goes with everything.)

Oh, man, we didn't have nearly enough time to keep going, but yes -- Highlander goes with everything. Honest. Sorry you missed it!

Oh, and when *are* you going to do a Rome crossover? ::innocent::

::coughs, looks innocent:: I hadn't thought about it until I saw this list. And I still want to do my "Duncan in the Firefly 'verse" story, because he'd do so well there.

Mm. I think it's more a problem of 'What happens when the Cylons get there?' But I'm not watching BSG so I have no idea. ::g:: Probably why I also don't have a clear memory.

Oh, but if you've seen this science-drama version of BSG, you'd have to write it -- the flags of the Colonies have their constellations as seen from lost Earth! And how many immortals are among the 45,000 survivors, and how many stayed to fight the Cylons? I think Duncan is on Caprica among the fast-dwindling resistance, myself.

Actually, the whole series is just too damn dark for me. I find the newspapers and non-fiction depressing enough anymore; I want my fiction to be fun. But I'm glad to hear it sounds possible, yes!
