LFJDSAKFJDSLKJFLDJF. I'm thrilled you enjoyed your first VD episode! This whole post made me smile so much. I... pretty much agree with everything?

The scene in Damon’s bed where he tells her he loves her and she says “I know”? Gah, my eyes were widening and I was unconsciously leaning further toward the screen, and wow. How he thanked her so sincerely for the kiss and she said you’re welcome just as sincerely? When he said, “You should have met me in 1864. You would have liked me” and she said, “I already do”? Ack, ack, ack, my heart, I don’t even know these characters.

GRINNING LIKE A CRAZY WOMAN. I was actually wondering if those scenes would only work for people already invested in Damon and Elena's relationship, so it's good to be proved wrong! :D

100% word on all the familial relationships. As you noted, romance is a big part of the show, but family is actually THE thing. Especially the Salvatore brothers -- they're the true love story of the series. *nods*

He’s destroying Stefan by forcing Stefan to destroy himself. That is ( ... )

:D So glad it made you smile! Squeeing about something gets ten times more exciting for me when someone squees too (gosh, 'squee' sounds dirty no matter how you use it, doesn't it).

I look forward to that! Possibly I am viewing this with way too much of a BtVS filter, but they make me think of Angel and Spike in that they have such different world views and don't get along on a day-to-day basis but would still do just about anything for the other. I could be completely wrong on the day-to-day basis thing.

I'd say Damon's a better role overall for Ian.

He does seem to have the sexy-evil vibe down pat. Boone, from what I remember, was a wannabe-bad-boy woobie. Also, didn't he have unrequited love for Shannon, too??

I initially assumed they were hired for their looks more than anything.

YES! That was what I thought. Yay for being wrong!

there isn't really anything like that rush of shipping.Yeah. Sigh ( ... )

No, you're pretty close to the mark! The brothers deeeefinitely have super different worldviews, yeah. I think they might actually be closer than Angel and Spike, though? Because they were best friends when they were human and all.

Haha, yes! Ian sure knows how to pick 'em. ;)

I LOVE ALL YOUR PREDICTIONS/SPECULATION! That is exactly what I want to happen next season, too. :D

I'm sure they are closer than Angel & Spike 'cause A & S kind of have that father-son thing going on, too, which is a different dynamic. Not unequal per se, but I think Angel would (eventually; not in AtS S5) be way more overprotective of Spike than vice versa (it's possible I have been daydreaming about AUs lately).

Also, I forgot to talk about it in my post, but omg, wasn't Ingrid Michaelson's "Turn To Stone" the most perfect beyond perfect song for that episode? Amusingly, when I went to youtube to listen to the whole thing all the comments on the page were TVD-related.
