Title: Long Time Coming (2/2) Rating: PG-13 (discussions related to sex but no actual sex) Summary: This fic is a continuation of “Freefall, Part 2,” issue #2 of S9. Part 2 is approximately 3,000 words. Part 1 is here.
Oh! *flail* I have tears in my eyes here, and I don't even like the comics! I have no idea what any of this plot is that you speak of! (Except: Dawn and Xander threw her out, AGAIN?!?)
And still I'm all teary-eyed, because people finally figuring out they're wanted after thinking for the longest time that they're not is pretty much the biggest tearjerker ever for me.
Thank you so much! Oh, it makes me so incredibly happy (and flattered and grateful) that you read and enjoy my comics fic, even though you don't like the source material.
(Except: Dawn and Xander threw her out, AGAIN?!?)
The mind boggles, doesn't it? I can sympathize with not wanting to harbor someone for whom the police are looking, but if it's your sister and you know she's innocent? I suppose they might have legitimate reasons (grievances against Buffy) after what she did in S8, but I still have trouble imagining turning away a family member like that. They don't even give a good excuse. Xander actually says, "As much as we'd like to aid and abet...we can't aid and we're not even sure what abetting is." The comics are not giving me many reasons to like the Scoobies.
This was just painful and moving and asdklfjsklafjsd SO RIGHT all at once, and...
ALL THE FEELINGS.
This whole section feels like it could be a standalone piece, comics or not, just exactly what's needed after Chosen and now I'm mourning the fact that the comics will may never give us something quite so wonderful. Thank you. <3

But aside from all that, thank you! <3

That... wow. Oddly, quippiness alongside totally jerkish behavior does not actually make the jerkish behavior any easier to bear.
