Today I stayed inside and rolled around on my bed, due to the unfortunate and timely attack of international microbes. It's been a little rainy--threatening, more then raining--all week here, with sudden showers making appearances after the sun's gone down and the air temperature hits that sweet point of cold that calls it down in a rush. If you already know this, ignore me, but it's my one useful piece of advice regarding earthquakes: according to Rachel, who used to work for the Red Cross in Los Angeles, during an earthquake never try to go stand in a doorway. Most injuries come from people trying to move around, whereupon they fall down and break their legs because the floor is not where it's supposed to be. Sit tight and wait it out. :D

Thanks for the advice! At the time I was so tired, I couldn't even be bothered to be concious enough to think about moving. It was more of a passing, deep fish thought of, "..I do not think that my body should be moving slightly back and forth without any effort on my part. Perhaps it is an Earthquake. How intrigu--zzzzzzzzzzzz...." But it's a good thing to know since I'll be here for quite a while!
