New laptop

Well I have a brand new shiny blue laptop. Windows 10 is driving me a little batty but I'll get the hang of it. At least it is close enough to Windows 7 that it shouldn't take me too long to learn it. Wish me luck.

Be careful, Grumpy. I'm told that Win 10 has some pretty sneaky privacy issues. It's part of why I went back to Win 7 after a couple of days with 10. When I go to 10 permanently (as I'm sure I will) I'll do it with a computer expert at my shoulder, helping me avoid those pitfalls.

Two things I really didn't like were the necessity of creating a "Microsoft account" when, according to the Community portal, I was already logged into one (my msn email account). Also, I was not acknowledged as a administrator--even though my local drive acknowledges me as one. There are other things but those were the two most prickly items.

Here's a link about the privacy issues, sent to me by my daughter: http://bgr.com/2015/07/31/windows-10-upgrade-spying-how-to-opt-out/

I'll be interested in hearing about your experience with it. I keep getting prompted to "reserve my copy," but so far am resisting.
