So, I was in NYC the weekend before last, and never posted about it! Shame on me!

I was actually extremely fond of this Anne. You really had the sense of a girl playing at being a grown up. Henrik couldn't really get on top of "Later," which is a shame as it is a great song.

I loved the Count, though I wish he had found a moment to lose his composure. Perhaps on the line "I'll kill him!" so it contrasts better with "Why should I bother?" But holy fuck, was he sexy or what?

Did you find the set horribly underwhelming? I liked the birches, but other than that...

What's funny is that the set seemed like a transfer -- from the much smaller stage that ALNM played at in London. Yet I don't actually remember that set from the summer. So my theory is that it IS the same set and that my memory is bad -- and I was in the front row in London, so with a not-great view of the set.

You were in New York and didn't tell me? I saw A Little Night Music the Friday after Thanksgiving. I really enjoyed it, and Michael Douglas sat next to me, which was kinda cool :) And I met Henrik's mother before the show in the lobby, she was so proud of her son. I wasn't blown away by him, but I'd never tell her that.

I haven't seen Next To Normal yet, although I slept with one of the producers LOL

i don't know all of the sondheim stuff, but i do know Night Music and really love so much of the music. i totally identify with the Henrik character and his cello, and i love his song 'Later' sooooo much.
