You know, Pesci, your post makes me wonder something - do you think it’s possible the big guy has run out of ideas?

Think about it: he had all sorts of good ideas for the series, he had these great characters in mind, and then things went on…and on…and on….and suddenly, he realizes he has no clue how to end the thing. Half of me thinks that Lord Fudgenstuff spends his nights trolling the ASOIAF messageboards, looking for “predictions” that sound like good ideas. (“Oohh, look…AryaFan69 has a great idea on how to end the next book. Maybe I’ll use that!)

As a follow up to this point, don't forget that a lot of the plot of the first book and good parts of other books are virtually plagiarized from the War of the Roses. Which is history and has already been completely written - I find it odd that history might have been written faster than these books, but I digress. Some of the similarities are so bad that it makes me wonder if he just copied and pasted from some history book.

So, this book is the first one that he really has to work on ... everything else was easy. If this is #5 and if any others take this much effort, he will not finish this series.

will be HBO telling him 4 years from now that they need more shit for their TV version of ASOIAF. At this point, ADWD will be 95% done...just like one of those damn youtube videos that never finish loading.

And for you Liotta, 6lbs. since last posting. I'm sad that it won't even really be a challenge to lose the pudge before GRRM finishes the book.

And Lord Fudgenstuff is the best title for our portly antagonist that I've ever heard.

Actually, the inside flap of the dust jacket on my first edition of A Game of Thrones states that A Dance with Dragons would be the second volume, so this title has shuffled around more than an ace of spades in the world series of poker.

And I absolutely agree, and have in fact feared so for quite some time, that Count HoHo hasn't got a clue how to end this series, and the plot is almost as out of control as his waistline.

Cant believe you guys haven't commented on Georges latest break in... It gives a full account of his day to day schedule. 2 hour TV time followed by NFL blog post followed by 2 more hours of TV.

I used to be alright with him taking so long but 8 fucking years since the last Jon Dany and Tyrion chapter is complete and utter bullshit.

Way to optimistic. Like Sansa when she first met Joffrey. So much hope. When you see and or read about all the other crap he is plugging, how can we be optimistic he is actually working on Dance?
