It's just shy of 6am and I'm up on a Sunday to go to work.  Christ, this is what my life has become.  If only i had piles of cocaine to help me--OH WAIT HERE IS SOME RIGHT HERE.

Much better.  Anyway, I continue to hold down the fort, solo, and while the first quarter work schedule may be kicking my ass, I still refuse to abandon my post.  (Granted, ( Read more... )

"Sure, Poe was kind of an asshole"...yet, I prefer to think that G. Martin is a liar or a snob (hard to choose?).
What´s with the cocaine? I thought it was no longer a fashion.

A blog to create the food in ASOIAF is such a natural offshoot of the books. Especially since the latest book sounds like a fantasy version of some Anthony Bourdain show.

I stumbled across FTBG recently while searching for news, any news at all, about TWOW. What a joy it is to have a place to go to exorcise all my demonic frustrations and appease my love/hate relationship with The GRReat Bloated One and his overwrought Magnum Opus (no. not Wild Cards)! I've been snorting into my coffee each morning for the past 2 days reading current & archived posts. Particular kudos for defending the Magnificent J.R.R. Tolkien & his work against the ludicrous comparisons to GRRM. Please keep up the remarkable work, & I'll definitely keep reading.

A quick recommendation that you guys may or may not be aware of: Sandman Slim by Richard Kadrey is the first book of a pulpy, entertaining, urban fantasy trilogy that I found enjoyable to read. It's a good revenge story with a sarcastic sense of humor. The second book in the series (Kill the Dead) drags a bit, as the middle of the trilogy, but is still fun, and I have yet to read the third installment (Aloha From Hell) as it was just released last month & is only available ( ... )
