GRRM is 63. Assuming he is able to finish the story in two more books, at this rate he will be 73.

Having adored the early volumes and waited avidly for ADWD it was extremely disappointing to find a turgid 700 pages that extended the saga by so little. Have editors lost any discrimination or power to advise their authors? So much of ADWD could have just been cut and absorbed into AFFC. There is the sad suspicion that the author has become just a little bored with his characters. And boredom, Mr Martin, is contagious.

His publisher must not have given him an advance for winds of winter. That guy is trying to sell some books huh?
