Some thoughts on George's thoughts...

So when you write a frequently-repetitive blog about an author's works, and their lack of timely release, it becomes telling when you end up spending more time dealing with his television adaptations than with his books.  Part of me is grateful that HBO went ahead and produced the series; after all, it gave us a lot more to talk about, since ( Read more... )

In defense of the lack of Damphair, at least we'll be getting POVs from three other Greyjoys (technically four) in this book to cover down on the Iron Islands representing, and Damphair will still be there for book 6 if GRRM doesn't die in the meantime.

But yeah, that's a lot of Daenerys. Hopefully much of those chapters will be consumed by Tyrion stealing the show.

I happen to frequent many male rest rooms in the New York-New Jersey area, and I've never run(or should I say "encountered") into Pesci. What gives? Am I going at the right times? Is there a secret passcode I don't know about? Maybe a secret handshake?? I'm freakin' desperate here Liotta! Throw me a freakin' bone!!! Ya see, I'm somewhat of men's room connoisseur. It's sorta a hobby of mine I took up to pass the time in between release of ASOIAF books, I promised myself I would stop once Dance came out, but here I still am. On a lighter note, I think we should savor each and every moment of Dance, it might be our last Martin ASOIAF book. And if anyone pays attention to my worthless comments I post here, a ghostwriter will SERIOUSLY FUCK UP the rest of the books.

Hm, well Ray, I have to say that your commentary on the repetitiousness of commentary on the series and on the books is a bit repetitious.

I've read that GRRM wants all notes for ASOIAF burned on his demise. Anyone else hear this?

I have heard that, as well. Although if he is sending copies of drafts to the Special Collections library at Texas A&M, I would think there should be some unpublished chapters and details there that would help people piece some of it together.

I'm looking forward to your comments on it. I won't be reading it, or anything else by Martin, until he finishes the book (and the book is A Song of Ice and Fire, not just one of the installments). That means I probably won't ever be reading it.

I'm especially looking forward to what you have to say about zombie Catelyn Stark as a viewpoint character.

Unless every chapter is her going "BRRAAAIIINNNNSSSSSS...BRRAAAAAAAAAIIIINNSSSSSS!!!", I guarantee I will be unhappy about it.

...She's not and he said she never will be? The returning PoV is (clearly) Theon.
