The Winners (?)

Well, the contest is over, and as expected, I now feel slightly ill, like when you decide to have a burrito and a chocolate shake for lunch, and then go for a five-mile run.  I'm sure you know what I mean.

However, I think my intestinal difficulties were worth it, for the FTBG Picture Contest was a huge success, with record numbers submitting ( Read more... )

Wow, krkreuk, that last one is great! To paraphrase a wise man who is now wandering the Earth, we would've settled for something quick, and you spring this gourmet shit on us. I'd say you should put it on a T-shirt, but apparently only 8 people would want one, and the costs for a short run are so high.

Thanks for doing the contest, Ray & Pesci. And the text for each of the photos was incredibly funny. Bonus points for mentioning the Apple IIgs! I once wrote a small C compiler for the IIgs. I still have one in my closet (yeah, I know...I should keep it in the closet). Viva la ProDos!

And it's only Monday morning. Lordy, this was funny stuff. Good thing I have a private office, because I've been laughing my ass off for fifteen minutes. Every picture was a gem, and the captions just hilarious, too ( ... )

So I finished the last page of Crows last night and reading that little note dated June 2005 made me sick... Those of you who finished these long ago, I feel for you. Knowing that it will be another year before we see this next book at least is so sad. Then to see his little notes on football is laughable.. there is one page he could have written to get the book completed had he better spent his time.

GRRM is the laziest writer alive.

Yeah, that afterword in AFfC is bitterly funny. I've lent out my books to a couple of family members and friends (4 now, I think). I actually put a little Post-It in the back of my copy of AFfC that says, "This is BS", because after the second person asked about ADwD, it was early 2008 and I got tired of explaining things. But lending the books is one of my petty ways of denying Georgie a couple of dollars to spend on miniatures and Pronto Pups.
