Fat, Drunk and Stupid is No Way to Write a Novel

It seems that a little post about a large man has gone a long way and it's only been a week.  Sorry I have not participated in the live journal sooner, but I had to work.  That's right, work.  Something our 'friend' George R.R. Martin seems to have forgotten about.  I'm not asking the guy to plug 10 hour shifts just to finish Dance, but its ( Read more... )

It's great that you feel extremely slighted because someone is criticizing your favorite author. I'd love to see how you'd react if you ever had to deal with actual hardship. Maybe when you finally manage to crawl out of your mother's basement, you'll learn some social skills and won't find it necessary to rabidly defend one of the laziest authors around today.

By the way, I think a more appropriate analogy for Erikson and Martin would be 'comparing apples to rancid puddles of ranch Dorito vomit.

It's alright. I love waiting for a new ASoIaF book every presidential election.

Nobody gives a FLYING FUCK about football. The only reason anyone comments and responds to his football posts, is because they are a bunch of brown-nosed, ass kissers. They are afraid to piss off their Liege Lord Georgie Smartypants, who seems to be a sanctimonious asshole when it comes to his fans. On one hand he talks about how much he loves his fans (usually in direct reference to BUYING shit), but when I read question/answer emails, etc. between him and fans, he really comes off as a big asshole who seems to almost be mocking the fans for being so into the series.
When I read about him galavanting in Portugal for a month, or his fucking Wildcards series, which, frankly nobody seems to give a fuck about, i get furious. Finish the fucking series George.
Certainly his bullshit about controlling what is talked about on his blog is really ridiculous. Jesus fucking christ man, get off your high horse.

Man, Its about goddamn time someone put pressure on that guy. I doubt he'll read this, but i'm sure he'll hear about it. Good. Fuck 'im. I'm sick of waiting and this guy doesn't seems to do the job he is paid to do, unless that is shameless self promotion

Terry Pratchett: 1 book every 6 months *without fail*. These books are of consistently excellent quality and regularly top the British best seller and readers favourite lists. And the man is suffering from early onset Alzheimer's.

George R.R. Martin: "It'll be done when it's done..." < That is not professionalism.
